As I mentioned in my previous post, this toy soldiers idea is something I've shot before so I've used a few of the images from my original shoot and a couple of other new ones. I've decided to use war quotes from famous people, all sourced off the internet, here's a couple of examples of how my final pieces will look...

As much of a rush this work is/was, I feel pretty happy with the results, I just hope my grade comes back in agreeance with me?

Idea decision

So for my two proposals I was going to go with either the family generations or my local area at night.

I opted to go with the night time shooting one as I feel the four weeks I have to finish this brief just wouldn't be enough time to find suitable 'subjects' and then arrange times and places to shoot the images for the generations idea.

So from that I was going to shoot my local area at the night. In the end I decided against this idea too, due to the weather being absolutely horrendous, well I do live in Manchester! And also for my own safety reasons, well I do live in Gorton!

As time was getting on and my final hand in date is coming up I've decided to use an idea I've already shot in the past, toy soldiers out in the grass, puddles, mud and other 'surroundings'. It's all been a bit rushed but I only have myself to blame and lessons have been learnt!

These are just a few images I've found online to see how different layouts work. I'm still totally undecided on what or how my layout will be. I need to start thinking more into how it'll work.

Idea two

For my second idea, I proposed to go ahead with an idea I've had for a few weeks already. I want to try and shoot family generations, from (great)grandparents down to newborn babies. I've put a call out on my photography page on Facebook and will have to keep asking around. The only problem I feel I'll have with this idea is time management and actually finding people willing to go ahead with it.

I'll just have to keep asking and try get it sorted as soon as possible if I'm to go ahead with this idea.

Idea one

So for my first idea I proposed to shoot my local area at night time. When I spoke to my tutor about this in uni he suggested that I should maybe do a day and night theme, show the difference in the time and how the area looks. I'm going to try get out and get some initial night shots and see how it works.

Welcome...

Good evening and welcome to the first post in my newest blog. 

This is again, for a new assignment and it's one I'm looking forward to getting stuck into. For it, we've been tasked to produce our very own book! Really looking forward to this, for the brief it only has to be submitted digitally but I'm going to get it published for my own keep sake. Be nice to hold an actual piece of work I've made!

So as usual this blog will be initial research, ideas and generally any thoughts I have about the brief/book/ideas.
